What this is
PlantNurseryAtlas is a free directory of plant nurseries and garden centers in the United States, organised by state and city. Every listing has an address; most have a phone number, and where a business publishes its hours or services we show those too. Listings come from open data and from the businesses themselves, who can correct their card at any time — about the directory. Nothing on the lists is paid placement.
Pick a state above, or use the “near me” button to jump to the plant nurseries and garden centers closest to you. City pages show the full list with a map; state pages collect smaller towns that have a single nursery.

Common questions
What is the difference between a plant nursery and a garden center?
A plant nursery grows plants, often from seed or cuttings, and sells them directly. A garden center usually buys plants from growers and also stocks soil, pots, tools and supplies. Many places do both, so the line between the two is often blurry.
When is the best time to buy and plant trees and shrubs?
In most of the country, early spring and early fall are the easiest times, because mild weather helps roots settle in before heat or hard frost. Container-grown plants can be planted over a longer window than bare-root ones. Ask the nursery what works for your area.
How do I choose a healthy plant at a nursery?
Look for fresh, evenly colored leaves, firm stems and no sign of insects or spots. Slide the plant out of its pot if you can and check that the roots are pale and not wrapped in a tight circle. Avoid plants that look dry or are covered in blooms but have weak growth.
Should I choose plants native to my region?
Native plants are adapted to local soil, rainfall and wildlife, so they usually need less watering and fertilizer once established. They also support local pollinators and birds. A nursery that specializes in them can tell you which species suit your site.
Do nurseries deliver or plant what I buy?
Many deliver larger trees and shrubs for a fee, and some offer planting as a separate service. Policies differ from place to place, so ask about delivery, planting and any plant guarantee before you pay.
